Then again, glowing red, fenders, a chopped top and rear suicide doors
is pretty cool too.

The same can be said for a blown big block! (Note the nice job on routing
and retaining the spark plug wires.)

For a guy standing next to his transmission in a Kansas City parking
lot, he sure looks happy. Then again, owning that clean ’65 big
block Chevelle would make anyone happy.

Yes, it is a beater Chevette…

…and yes, that is a Cadillac powerplant ala’ Steve Magnante
and Hot Rod.

Since Hotchkis didn’t bring a car on the tour this year, Gary
had to settle for driving their display chassis in and out of the trailer.

Hot Rod Magazine TV had their hands full trying to interview people
along the tour. Here’s BFG Jack trying to keep a straight face
for the crew.

After competing in the La Carrera Pan Americana of Mexico, the Power
Tour must have been a walk in the park for Frank Currie.

We never talked to this fellow, but he did a nice job mounting his new
6AL…all that was left was to wire it in!

Straight axle, 10-spokes, blower and a big block made this Corvette
stand out from the crowd.

Brit White and Steve Arndt of Primedia stopped by in Kansas City to
say hi, enjoy a cool beverage and get out of the sun for a while. They
were digging the show and didn’t even try to sell us any more
ads! Hey Brit – next time bring the Hemi ‘cuda.

Every night along the tour there is a give-away with all of the sponsors.
This is just part of the crowd. You could win everything from a t-shirt
to a set of tires! By the end, people may chose a clean t-shirt over
the tires.

R&R Marketing reps Rich Butler and Jerry Nunez were handling the
tech questions and handing out the much covenanted Edelbrock Power Tour
hats for the first few days of the tour.

We really try to be organized, but when three companies are setting
up for a different show every night for a week, things tend to get tossed
around. Each night Ed would crawl into the Hotchkis trailer and arrange
everything nicely. All for it to be shuffled into disarray again!

We thought the flames on our Ram were pretty hot indeed…

…until this ’65 GTO snuffed us out and showed us what flames
were all about.

It wouldn’t have been Power Tour if HRM TV producer Kevin Oeste
and Kelle didn’t show up. The Galaxy was crammed full of tv equipment
but it was rolling on (unlike a few other tours) with people hanging
out the back recording footage for the show – watch for the upcoming
event!

Sometimes, when the tour is leaving there is the slim chance of a burnout
or two taking place. Occasionally, a cooler full of water gets dumped
on the street to aid those that chose to participate…we’re
not saying any more.
