Hot Rod Power Tour 2003Page 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

The road to Ft. Worth was littered with accidents and trouble spots. We only heard of one tour car that got beat up pretty nasty. We’re not sure what happened here, but plenty of people were on hand to help, and everyone gave us an 'ok' wave when we slowed.

This clean ’65 Vista Cruiser is a Power Tour veteran.

The brave duo in this roadster could see the storm as they headed west. Five minutes after we passed them, the rain started and continued for the next couple hours.

Every year we look forward to seeing Bill and Paul aka “a boy named Sue” on the Tour. This year they left Paul’s blown Camaro in the garage and motored along in Bill’s chopped, flamed Bug. There’s over 2,000 cc’s of V-dub power in the boot.

The Arlington cruise night was sponsored by Painless Wiring since it was their home turf. The Ford delivery has racked up a bunch of miles between Tours and Americruises.

This year we had great new MSD posters for the participants. In Arlington we hired Brittany and her sister Natalie to help keep up with the rolling duties. Maybe Keith will bring them along the whole tour next year to help.

There were a lot of very nice first gen Camaros on the tour and check out this row of convertibles.

After replacing a spark plug wire, Ed became an instant hero to this lady. She’s also a veteran of past tours and wanted an Ed-o-graph on her Power Tour shirt.

That about says it all. Now, they just have to get home.

We couldn't have made it through the trip if it wasn't for Robert and Sean from Speed Tek. These guys drove all night to get the trailer to the next show. Thanks guys.

Toured there, done that. We made it again - and we’re already looking forward to 2004!

If you enjoy driving your hot rod and haven’t partaken in a Power Tour yet, do yourself a favor and make plans for next year. It’s a fun event and something you’ll never forget. One of the best things about being on tour is meeting people and seeing friends from previous tours.

We need to thank the following companies for their great products that helped keep the ‘burb running smooth for another tour; BFGoodrich, Jim Conner Racing, KC HiLites, K&N, Jet Performance, Rancho/Dynomax, and Mothers. Speaking of Mom’s, I need to thank my folks who made most of the tour. They were a great help in picking up odds and ends for us and especially when rolling posters! Also, a big thanks to the crew at Speed Tek for driving all night and getting the trailer set for the next day’s cruise. Also, thanks to our sales reps that helped along the way; Dan Robinson, John Clark, Robbie Cook, Don Saenz, Troy Hudson, Chuck Schwam, Bob Cook and Dan DeBlasio.

Thanks everybody!
Todd, Ed and MSD
