 Antron Brown raced to Top Fuel victory this weekend at the NHRA Fall Nationals at the famed Texas Motorplex near Dallas. Antron took out teammate Spencer Massey in the final round. In Funny Car Bob Tasca III prevailed in the tire-smoking final with defending world champ Matt Hagan. In Pro Stock Allen Johnson earned his fifth victory this season by out running Erica Enders in the final round. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Texas native Michael Ray claimed his first career victory holding off Karen Stoffer in the final round. Congratulations to all the winnners!

Dave Leahy will be conducting a Technical seminar for MSD Products at the ADRL Ohio Drags VI. He will be explaining in depth and demonstrating the following:

• Basic Magneto Generator Principles and assembly
• Points Box operation and installation
• Basic Coil Principals and operation

There will also be a demonstration on the basic operation and installation of the EMI Safety Shut Off System.

 Shawn Langdon raced to his first career Top Fuel victory on Sunday at the rain-delayed NHRA Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, NC. Shawn defeated a hard charging Tony Schumacher in the final. Ron Capps defeated Mike Neff in the Funny Car final. In Pro Stock Jason Line claimed his second win of the season outrunning Allen Johnson in the final round. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Andrew Hines beat teammate Eddie Krawiec to the finish line. Congratulations to all the winners.

 

 The rain-delayed U.S. Nationals resumed this past weekend with Tony Schumacher moving past Don Garlits for most Indy Top Fuel wins and a tie with Pro Stock great Bob Glidden for most Pro category wins at the world's most prestigious drag race. Tony held off teammate Spencer Massey in the Top Fuel final. In Funny Car Mike Neff took the honors defeating Tim Wilkerson in the final round. In Pro Stock, Dave Connolly took a holeshot win against Erica Enders in the final to take the wally! In Pro Stock Motorcycle Andrew Hines outran Hector Arana Sr. in the final round. Congratulations to all the winners!

MSD Performance is pleased to announce that the MSD PowerGrid Ignition System has been approved for use in the NHRA Pro Stock class beginning January 1, 2013.  

The PowerGrid is the next generation of programmable ignitions with increased spark energy and improved programming capabilities.  The PowerGrid system comprises of two components; the Controller, PN 7730, and the power source, PN 7720.  

The PowerGrid system will provide racers with a number of updated features and programming opportunities including: 

• Simple USB connection for laptops  
• Control timing based on engine rpm, gear value, and/or time  
• Advanced cylinder timing based on gear or time  
• CANbus connection for Racepak Data Loggers allows all the ignition data to be displayed on Racepak software  
• Five retard stages for extreme nitrous setups
