MSD congratulates fellow Texan Mike Murillo after winning the Street Car Supernationals last weekend with help from crewman Rudy Saenz. The event, held on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, ran into a number of problems due to weather, but was still finished before the weekend was out.  All the issues caused the race to go from a planned 1/4 mile down to 1/8^th for the rounds. Murillo won the 10.5 Outlaw class after taking the all Mustang finale with a holeshot 4.378 at 177 mph.

NASCAR records were shattered yesterday when Jimmy Johnson won an unprecedented fifth consecutive Sprint Cup Championship. After taking second in Homestead, FL, Johnson was able to capture the points he needed to keep the champion title he has held for half a decade now. Johnson is the only driver in the history of NASCAR to win five consecutive points titles and he is third on the list of all time championships behind Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.

Johnson drove to his championships using ignition parts proudly made by MSD Ignition. In fact, every team in the chase used HVC Ignition controls from MSD to fire their engines. The 2010 SEMA trade show is all wrapped up and everyone from MSD is back in the office. By all accounts the show at the Las Vegas Convention Center was a great success for MSD Ignition as the company was able to join in numerous industry meetings, sponsor a high school engine building team, answer questions from countless jobbers and end users, and most importantly introduce new products for 2011.

MSD raised the bar with new products unveiled at the show including the Digital 6A and 6AL, the Power Grid 7 Ignition System, and the EZ-1 Points Replacement Kit. Product information for each of these can be found on their respective pages through the company website.
