MSD"s CD circuits work with state-of-the-art IGBT coil drivers to deliver
a spark with 190 mj of spark energy! Below 3,300 rpm, there is series
of multiple sparks that burns in the cylinder for 20° producing a smooth
idle with great throttle response. You get to control all of this spark
energy through an incredible array of timing and rpm programs. The heart
of the Programmable DIS-2 is a 15Mh microprocessor that reviews, analyzes
and manages every trigger signal and is capable of up to 15 million
instructions per second! The end result is a powerful ignition control
with endless programming capabilities to produce reliable performance.

PROGRAM
FUNCTIONS
Individual
Cylinder Timing: Maximize the performance of each cylinder to
compensate for differing dynamics in airflow and other variances.
The spark to each cylinder can be adjusted up to 5° in 0.1° increments
which will eliminate any compromises in timing while developing the
full potential of the engine.
Launch
Timing Curve: Program a separate timing curve exclusively for
the launch! This is a big help in compensating for varying track conditions
to maximize traction.
Boost
Timing Curve: For turbo or superchargered applications an optional
MAP sensor can be installed so you can control the ignition timing
in relation to boost pressure. The timing can be programmed from 0°
- 25° in conjunction to for boost pressure ranging from 0 - 45 psi
in 0.50 psi increments.
Multi-Step
Retard: Three separate stages of retard can be activated by either
rpm or a separate activation wire. This is perfect for all nitrous
applications. Programmable from 0°-15° in 0.1 degree increments within
800 - 15,000 rpm in 100 rpm steps.
Gear
RPM and Retards: Program a different rpm shift point for each
gear as well as a retard for every gear change.
Three
Rev Limits: Set three different rev limits for the burnout, the
holeshot and top end overrev protection in 100 rpm increments.
PROGRAMMING
MSD offers
two ways to program the PN 6212 Ignition. One is on a laptop with
the Pro-Data+ Windows based software. This software opens quickly
and displays a plotted rpm/timing, boost chart, a real time tachometer,
a dial showing the timing retard plus a complete ladder of the adjustments.
It can be used with any PC running Windows 95, 98 or NT. Download
the MSD Pro-Data+ software.
Hand
Held Programmer/Monitor
If you do not have a laptop or PC, all of the Programmable DIS-2's features
can be adjusted with a hand held Programmer/Monitor. The Monitor communicates
connects to the ignition via a 9-pin cable and features six positive
contact push buttons for adjustments. The LCD will display all of the
programming options which you select to adjust or view.

Cam
Synchronization Pickup
In order to take advantage of the Individual Cylinder Management
system, a synchronization pickup must be incorporated so the ignition
knows exactly which cylinder is firing. This pickup kit is supplied
with a non-magnetic pickup, connectors, magnet and retainer. You will
need to fabricate a bracket assembly and install the magnet.

Launch Control and Shift Light
This handy controller lets you change the launch rpm setting of
the Programmable DIS-2 for last second changes. This way, if you're
in the staging lanes you can compensate for changing track conditions
with the twist of a control knob. The end of this controller also
acts as a Shift Light! A cluster of LED's will illuminate when the
engine rpm reaches the programmed level to remind you to shift.

LED Shift Light
This new Shift Light features a bright LED that will alert you to
shift your desired rpm point. The compact housing fits neatly to a
steering column or on top of a dash board and stays unobtrusive but
illuminates bright enough to see easily in the daylight. This Light
has two wires that plug directly into the Programmable DIS-2 Ignition,
PN 6212. It can also be used with factory or other aftermarket ignition
systems through an rpm activated switch such as MSD's PN 8950.
