I bought the 6AL 2 and the instructions say don't use a digital timing light. I have a nice MAC TL90 timing light that is digital. Why can't a digital timing light be used when using the box?

You can't use any digital timing light, especially a dial back light.

I just remembered something, we used my MAC timing lite on the race car and we run the 6 al box in that car. The timing lite worked fine.

I don't think our timing was off at all, testing the car it was hitting the chip almost too quick on the straight and the laps times were quicker than the car that got pole position the first time we raced at this track this year. I have also read in another forum where the MAC digital light would work with other digital would not. I have also used the MAC digital with my e-curve which is a digital. The instructions don't say anything about not using a digital timing light on an e-curve

Sounds like you may be one of the lucky one's that have a digital light that WILL work accurately with an MSD ignition system.
Keep using it if you're happy.

Now I read where the board on the digital lite can be fried is used on a digital ignition. I think I'll play it safe and sell the MAC while it's still working and pick up an inductive lite. Thanks for your help
