Well here is my issue, my ignition system arcs like theres mo
Tomorrow. AMC 360 V8, MSD off road 6 PN-6470 SN 012383 going to a Ford 460 coil, and a MSD cap adapter to a ford Cap/rotor. As some call the "team rush" ignition upgrade. I am running MSD 8.5mm super conductor wires, to new plugs gapped at 0.040. I am expericing arcing both at the coil itself, the coil wire to distributor, and around spark plugs themselves. I have swapped the coil with a new one, same issue and troubleshot all the connections by the MSD wiring schematics. All wires are less than 2 days old and were built by myself, following the double crimp procedure to the T. Any thoughts? |

once that arching happens ( from the coil to the positive to the negative) it leaves a trail or etch mark, that unfortunately cannot be repaired.. you must, replace the coil-and the coil wire at this time. what causes this?..usually ... 1) oil residue or water around the tower 2) boot not pushed all the way in 3) using the wrong boot and termainl combination 4) or a crack coil tower. |
