I'm going to replace my 7AL-3 system with a Grid. I see that the 8251 or 8261 are the recommend coils. What is the difference between them? I have looked at the specifications, and they look about the same.
I guess I do not really understand the technical specification numbers. Thanks. |

then you would want the 8261 ( more current) for the cylinder pressure
you have. |

Would you be kind enough to explain the differences in the 2 coils so that I can learn about current. What would the 8251 be best for?

Thanks. I was wondering about current, because I thought that the rate that a coil could re-charge and fire again vs.overall output was the trade off.
Would the 8251 coil be adequate for my 434 normal aspirated 14:1 compression motor that I spin to 7400 rpm? I am going to use the -7AL3 ignition for it. Or would I be better of with another 8261 Both cars are strictly 1/4 mile cars |

for the most bang for buck...the 61 would be a better choice.
