Is there a difference between the 930 and the Turbo Carrera, or are they the same vehicle?

They are the same vehicle. I have a permatune ignition installed currently and from what I saw tonight, I can probably jump from that existing harness to the new MSD connections.

I have this 8 pin connector as shown in the link below, seems like everything is there. What do you think?

Installing an MSD Ignition system should be quite simple. What type of ignition system are you looking for?

Im thinking of the digital 6 and the new blue HVC II coil.

Based on these terminals, do these connections sound right?

8= Power-Red = MSD Heavy Red

7= Signal (distributor pin A)-Green = MSD Violet

6= Signal Ground (distributor pin B)-Brown = MSD Green

5= No connection

4= Tachometer-Black/Purple = MSD 8920 connector

3= Ground-Brown = MSD Heavy Black

2= Coil ground-Brown/Red = MSD Black

1= Coil Hot-White = MSD Orange

Will it be a problem connecting the MSD Heavy red & red power wires to the same switched 12V source? The battery is mounted way in the front, so a direct connection would be more difficult but can be done.

Thanks

Are you trying to eliminate your perma tune and use the MSD or do you want to use them together?

The permatune will be eliminated - the connector diagram in the previous post is of the terminals in the car that was used for the permatune.

Everything looks ok to me. However until you install the new ignition on this vehicle it's hard to say. I don’t think there will be a problem.
