dashawk connected to different vehicule

Hello

I have a working dashawk on my mazdaspeed 3 bought used from another mazda user but since this gauge should be compatible to read many other brand, what should i do to connect another vehicule

i have a 2000 civic with a cel that i would like to read and when i try it it doesn't regognize the vin # and i also tried it on few other with the same issue ...
