hallo,

i replaced the MSD in my car with the good old bosch 010 and the car is running good now.
but as said i still would like to use my MSD.
now i have an other question.
can i use my MSD box with rev control on my 010,i would like to do this so that i can be sure that there is nothing wrong with the box.
and if i can do this wich coil is best to use then?

You can wire the MSD to the Bosch distributor using the small white wire of the MSD. It make fire the car, but that won't answer the question of why the box isn't firing using he magnetic pickup.

It could be the pickup in the distributor or the magnetic pickup circuit in the box. It is most likely the magnetic pick-up.

The attachment will help you wire the box to your 'points' distributor.

ok, thanks for your answer.
but i start to get a bit confused now
so if i have no probleme when the box is connected to my bosch distibutor that does not mean that my box is OK then,it could still be a bad pick up circuit in the box?
can that be repaired in a 6T?

It could either be a bad magnetic pickup circuit in the box OR a bad pickup in the mag pickup distributor.

The replacement pickup for the distributor can be easily changed by you. The attachment will show you how and will give the part number of the replacement pickup.

The 6T can usually be repaired!

This will give you the procedure to perform the false trigger test on the box. You will check the two wire magnetic pickup connection using a jumper wire. The small white MUST be removed or disconnected and not touching anything when doing that test.

This will help tell you if the box or the distributor is faulty.

Use this link to download the correct testing procedures for that ignition:

http://www.msdignition.com/page.aspx?id=3206

I would rather you test the unit first to make sure the unit is inoperable before sending it in for repair.

If you perform this test and the unit is found to be faulty, use this link for the proper return procedures:

http://www.msdignition.com/RMA_step0.aspx

You can also call 915-855-7123, M – F, 8am – 5pm, Mountain Time and obtain that RMA number over the phone.

Cost of the repair will range between $23.00 - $87.50 plus all applicable sales tax and shipping charges.

If the unit is under one year from date of purchase, send a copy of the original sales receipt and we will repair that under warranty.

Please include a short note describing exactly what the issues are so we can narrow things down during our testing procedure.

A repair usually takes between 10-14 work days (M-F) once we receive the unit(s) in our facility.

hallo,

thanks for you answer.
i did both tests before and when i use the "paperclip" method i get a spark everytime, but i don't get a spark when i use the whit cable method and that is what confuse me.
i gonna change the pickup in the distributor and see if that solve the probleme.
if not i might send the box to see if that is the probleme.
