Distributor contacts
We running an 7AL box with a HVC II coil stock Ford distributor and an MSD crank trigger. The distributor cap contacts are brass(msd cap) but after a few passes the contacts turn black inside the cap like they burnt...any ideas?

Ok I'll post a picture tonight.
Also what is the complete amperage draw of all these components together, i have looked but cant find info. 7AL box rpm activation switch starter saver HVC II coil Also what is the lowest voltage that these will work efficiently at. I just figured i would add that here as to start another thread. Thanks

thats normal....where are you located at ?....ohio ...indiana?
the amount of current being produce from the 7 and 8 series ...will create excessive heat on the rotor and cap terminals.

just for arguement sake...drill a hole in a old cap (so you can see the terminal in the cap ) like checking rotor phasing...
