What engine? What distributor? What cranking volts?
How have you grounded the engine? The red led comes on for a second and goes off according to the instructions.

check the power on the thin red lead....see if it has voltage with the key on and in the cranking position.

It's wired up in my race car . So it has 12.7 v to it and 12.2 at cranking. It's a 302 Windsor street fire dizzy blaster 2coil.

so, if you un-hook the coil wire...and crank on the engine...you see spark ?

the only Street Fire distributor that we have for a Ford is a TFI distributor.. Is this a fuel injected set up. You have not provided enough information, I believe that there is something else going on that we are not aware of, so, I'm with Gaz64: What distributor (pn), what engine, and what type of fuel delivery???
