Is it possible to just hook up the Digital 7 P/N 7535 box and start the car or does it have to be programmed first?

The 7535 should at least start the car with out any program entered.

What if you are running the cam sync?

Programming the cam sync fuunction is well down the list of things that need to be tweaked after the engine starts and runs and you start adding timing changes to that box.

Ok, I thought you would have to enter in the firing order so you could start it up.

Not at all the box doesn't care what the firing order is to operate, only when programming for Individual Cylinder Timing which is a retard function only.
