I installed My MSD 6AL-2 Last summer but had some wiring problems not associated With the MSD, But kinda redoing It and wanna wire the 12 volt small red straight to the fuse box. Is this a good Idea? And do I wanna put a inline fuse between the fuse box and the MSD BOX? I had a Ammeter burn down late last summer had to replace my Dash harness made A REAL mess. But have a new fuse box and found a male spade that has juice when keys on thinking this is good spot? I run 71 DUSTER 340. Thanks Doug

The small red wire pulls very low current, probably less than an amp. Fuseing would be a good idea. I would use at least a 5 amp, fast blow fuse.
The small red wire requires power/energy when the starter is engaged and when the key is released to the 'run' position.
