Default Mounting a 8201 Pro Power coil.

Is this an accepted position for the coil?
On its side and close to the battery?

Thank you.
Hans Olsson.

I don't see any problem with that installation position.

Can you list the worst places for the coil?

Thank you!
Hans.

The absolute worst place to mount that coil would be on the intake or where we COULD NOT get any cool air flow over the coil.

Remember, the coil does a lot of work and will generate heat. We need to keep that coil, as well as any other coil, as cool as possible.

Is it necessary to use shielded wiring between the control box (7AL2)
and the coil (8201)? If so,what kind would you recommend?

Thank you!
Hans.

It shouldn't be necessary, however, if you want to it woukld not be detrimental to do so. I would recommend purchasing a shielded cable from an electronics supply house. Shielded cable from your local commercial comsumer electronics component store is of an inferior grade for this purpose.

I would use a Belden wire with a wire gauge for the wire pair of at least 16 gauge. 14 gauge if the wire run is going to be over 10 foot.
