Not having access to any drawings of the ignition system for that vehicle, it is difficult to give you an accurate answer.

Do you have access to a diagram of the vehicle that you can supply to us? Is there a U.S. equivalent to the vehicle that we can use to look up a schematic of the engine ignition system?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It appears that your ignition is comparable to an American HEI system where the coil is located inside the cap.

You will probably need an MSD Tach/Fuel adapter PN8910EIS.

We can install an MSD ignition system on this vehicle .................IF.........................you can gain access to the coil and use the wires originally wired to coil POS and coil NEG. These wires will be disconnected from the coil and wired to the MSD. Wire(s) originally on coil POS will wire to small RED of MSD. Wire(s) originally wired to coil NEG to small black of MSD PN 8910EIS tach adapter. The green/green pigtail from the 8910EIS will wire to the violet/green wire of the MSD ignition.

Now this is where we are going to run into problems. You will need to modify your existing cap or a replacement cap in order to accept a high tension coil wire. This wire will serve the same purpose of running from the center of a conventional distributor cap to the tower of the coil. Your original coil, located in your distributor, will be eliminated. You can do this by using MSD PN8803

Not actually knowing how your stock distributor is configured. You might be able to wire the MSD into the stock distributor utilizing the factory coil.

Hope this helps.

sorry to bother you again but i was reading through the older posts and came acrossone dated 11-14-06, titled "nissan recommended msd", under the "applications" category. This is the same vehicle i am inquiring about but has slightly different info, was wondering if you mind running your eyes over it and see if this changes things as to what i and wanting to do.
Cheers

The link to the post provided by you (Thank You ) states that it is a multiple coil application and that the coils are integrated. It also states that since the coils are configured as they are, there is nothing available for the application.

The ignition system between the two are completely different as night and day.

You state that you have a coil-in-cap HEI distributor.

From the information given, I would continue to recommend that you wire using a standard HEI installation as illustrated in my previous post.

I have copied and pasted for easy reference:

It appears that your ignition is comparable to an American HEI system where the coil is located inside the cap.

You will probably need an MSD Tach/Fuel adapter PN8910EIS.

Now this is where we are going to run into problems. You will need to modify your existing cap or a replacement cap in order to accept a high tension coil wire.
