6AL discharging battery...

Has anyone encountered this issue? Am I able to install a relay off the ignition wire to send power to the unit before startup? That way when the key is off no power is to the unit.

If wired correctly and there is no voltage applied to the small red wire of the MSD when the engine is not running and the ignition switch being "off", there is no drain on the battery and therefore, will not cause battery to run down.

You might try removing the HEAVY RED and HEAVY BLACK wires to the MSD, Charging the battery and see if the battery holds or continues to lose a charge. This would be one way to eliminate the MSD.
