Default Timing???

Hi!
I hope someone can help me out. I have a Ford 289, with a demon carb, MSD 6AL2, and MSD Digital e-curve dist PN 8503. I just installed the e-curve distributor and when I put it in first gear and start to let of the clutch it dies. It was running fine with my old distributor. It will back out in reverse fine and idles strong but once it's put into first gear it dies. I imagine its because the load is different in the forward gears.

So does anyone have any suggestions or ideas what is going on? I figure its got to be something with the timing or the advance.

Thanks!

Make sure that you time the vehicle using a NON Digital, NON Dial-back timing light. Use a simple, plain-Jane, two wires to the battery, clamp to #1 cylinder, point/shoot timing light.

Adjust the curve for the distributor using the switches on the module. We set that distributor for the stiffest setting. Readjust for your application.

I believe this will solve your problem.
