View Full Version : Some Questions About Pn 2530 Programming

MSDīs ignition is now installed, and engine runs.
I asked some tips for timing curves of my friend, and he said this:

I can tell you what works well:
With static(engine off) timing set at 25 deg., you will want to start
retard at 5000 rpm(revolutions per minute) dropping 3 degrees every
1000 rpm so 6000=21 deg, 7000=18 deg to prevent detonation which
takes away power and breaks piston rings.
You should not start off with more then 25 deg. - it will be hard to crank
the engine over.- The above has worked fine for me for the last 12 years or so.
Then you might try this for maximum acceleration: start at 25 deg., at 3000 rpm
go up 2deg, to 27, then at 4000 back down 2 deg until 5000rpm when you must
start dropping 2 1/2 or 3 deg for every 1000 rpm increase.

So, unfortunately there is some things with those installation instructions which I donīt understand clearly...
Would you just tell me how to set all of those dip -switches so that it makes all the changes as told above.
That will help me to understand all of those technical stuff in those papers ;-)

Best regards
