[Injected GTO]

I am wiring an 8982 Start/Retard for operation activation with a nitrous solenoid in conjunction with a MSD6AL (8982 Gray wire to + side of nitrous solenoid) Question 1) Does the start retard function NEED to be wired for operation, or can I use JUST the High Speed Retard function by itself and leave the Violet start retard wire disconnected? I do not need the start retard function, and the distributor mechanical advance is NOT locked out. Also, Question 2) I have the 8982 unit Red wire wired to an NOS arming switch for +12V power currently. Will the 8982 unit allow a spark if there is no +12V applied(NOS not armed)? Thanks-

Injected GTO,

The Violet wire can be taped off, if you do not need it you do not have to use it. The red wire can not be hooked up like this, it must go to ignition switch power. If that wire is not powered up it will not start.
