I'm interested in applying a MSD to a 98 Dodge Dakota with a stock 3.9 L V6. What do you recommend?

cspengler,

The MSD 6A part number 6200. Unfortunately we do not offer a direct replacement coil for your 98. If you want to change the coil you can, It will not be a direct replacement but the part number would be 8207 which is the Blaster SS. The actual instructions show the hook up for the Dodge applications so the installation is fairly simple. This will be a nice set up for your Dodge. Both part number will be available through one of our dealers, there is a complete listing on our web page.

Thanks,

Will this same set up work on my 2000 Dakota CC with a 3.9? I was told that I would need the ignition for an odd fire 6 cyl. Does MSD make a wiring harness to add in the coil?

Your 3.9 is a even fire engine so the 6A will work just fine. Accel produces a harness to retrofit earlier style coils on 97' and newer Dodge vehicles.
