What system will work on an '88 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0L.

I would recommend using the MSD 6AL, PN 6420 if it is primarily driven on the street and sometimes used for off-roading, or the MSD PN 6470 if it is solely an off-road vehicle. MSD offers an installation harness, PN 8813, which makes the installation real simple.
