i recently installed an accel cap, msd blaster coil, msd 8.5 super conductor's and accel u-groove plugs gapped at .035. should i have gapped them larger as the car seems to have a rough idle at times and sometimes slightly backfires at wot. the timing is dead on and the cables are not mixed.
thanks for any help.

for the boys,
I would recommend clearing the computer if this is still fuel injected. It could be a lean pop that is causing the back fire. This can also cause a problem with not only idle but over all driveability. Under the circumstances, I would also recommend checking the plug wires for resistance. The MSD 8.5 mm wires should be 40-50 ohm's per foot. If there is a wire breaking down that can create a lot of noise which will also create this situation.
