High Gear Bounce

We have a 7AL3 and when recording the rpm's for later play back we see a lot of fluctionation after shifting to high gear. data recorder company says bad plug wires, these are new 11mm wires

we shift at 8200rpm's and after dropt 6500 and it flucuates arounds 6500 - 8000 range
motor seems to run fine

any one else seen this type problem?
data recorder is Altronics Redalert

Make sure that the spark plug wires are a suppression type wire and that you have them seperated and they are not near the magnetic pickup wires of the 7AL-3. Also, where are you picking up the signal for the data recorder? If you are using the tach output of the 7AL-3, make sure you do not have to many devices attached to that point.
