View Full Version : Digital 6 , Digital Sci Or Msd 7 Al2

The Digital 6 and Digital SCI appear to have identical specs. Can they be used interchangeably? Would it be acceptable to put the SCI on a 70 Barracuda street/strip car or do I need to use the Digital 6? Alternatively will an MSD 7 AL2 live on a Street/Strip car or will it overheat and die? I only drive a few hundred miles a year, about 25 miles at a time Max.
Thanks for your input.

The Digital 6 and the Digital SCI are very similar in their functions. The main difference is that the Digital SCI only has one rev limit where the Digital 6 has two. Also, the SCI is programmed at the factory for 4 cylinder use, but can be changed to 6 or 8 cylinder on the side of the unit by the owner. The MSD 7AL-2 can be run on the street if you use an MSD HVC style coil with it.

Thanks I didn't notice the missing second rev limiter. That makes a big difference in my desision making process.
