Mounting Hvc Coil Beside Digital 7

Last night I was beginning to mount the Digital 7 (Pt 7531) and the HVC Coil (the monster one) and backed out as I wasn't sure if I could mount them next to each other.

My plan is to mount them to a piece of alloy plate above the passenger footwell inside the car.

Is it okay to mount them beside each other or should I keep them as far apart as possible?

I would recommend keeping them separated, to prevent any type of EMI noise occurring and interfering with the MSD Unit. See if you can mount the coil in the engine compartment, and the MSD Unit will be fine inside the passenger compartment. The shorter the coil wire is the less noise it can generate.
