I have had 3 MSD crank trigger magnetic pickups go bad in the last 2 years. The car just starts running bogus et`s and about 2 or 3 passes later it won`t start, and I put a new p/u on with a .050 air gap and it`s fine for a while.
Help these things aint cheap.

One thing that you need to look at closely is how the harness is routed to the pickup. Make sure that the wires that exit the pickup are not being pulled on or are to tight. They should be securely fastened so that they are not being whipped in the wind as you make a run. Also look to see if the wires are being pulled when the engine torques over. This could be damaging the internal winding of the pickup and causing failure. I would suggest sending in the pickup so that we can inspect it to see what is causing the problem. If they are within the warranty period (12 months) and you have a copy of your receipt the pickup will be replaced to you if it has failed.
