:( i have a 69 camaro with msd 6al ,msd coil,& pro billet distributor.one of the nuts holding down the rotor in the distributor broke off and flew around the inside of the dist breaking off some of the fins on the shaft.i was able to make it home but it was misfiring and the tach was jumping all over the place.i put in a new probillet dist.i have a misfireing problem while driving 2000rpm and up.i checked the plugs and firing order.could the 6al have been damaged by driving it home withit misfiring so badly?

When you lose a paddle on the reluctor that cylinder basically does not fire because the ignition does not receive a trigger signal to tell it to fire. If anything, those cylinders that were not receiving a trigger signal would have very fouled plugs and they should be checked closely becasue no spark was occuring in those cylinders. The ignition would not have been affected by the reluctor damage.
