msd 6a control box

i just purchased the msd 6a control box and i just needed to know if the wiring that came with it that runs to the distributor and coil replaces the old stock wiring or if it is an add-on thanks

In order to answer your question, I will need to know what year, make, model and type of engine that you are installing the ignition on.

thanks but i already figured out how to wire it and its up and running but how do i know if its doing its job correctly just for fun its a 63 ford fairlane w/ a sb 221

Generally you will see improved starting (should start quicker) and also a smoother idle. Run it for awhile and then go back to the stock ignition and usually you will feel a difference and want to put the MSD back on.
