I have the MSD billet mag pickup distributor with the mechanical tach drive for a Corvette. There are 2 grooves down by the end of the dist., that I have been told should have "O" rings in them for oil control. Never had one in there is 7 years. SHOULD I?

All MSD Pro Billet Distributors are equipped with two o-ring grooves located just above the distributor gear. These grooves are machined into the housing to accept o-rings. When the engine oil gallery is properly modified to accept the distributor with the o-rings installed they act as a seal to prevent loss of oil pressure around the o-gallery passage. You can use the distributor without the o-rings without any problems. If you plan on using them, you have to chamfer the edges of the oil gallery area to prevent damage to the o-rings when you install the distributor into the engine. There is a detailed explanation on how to perform the modification in the MSD Distributor instructions. Thanks. Since I do not have a properly prepared (chamfered) block, I will leave the O-rings off.

Next time you have your motor apart you may want to consider doing the modification.
