I am installing the Tach Adapter (PN 8910 EIS) along with the BTM 5462.. I was looking at the wiring diagram received with it and I noticed that the black wire that was once a ground is now connected to the coil negative...
I'm not an expert in electronics, but where would the BTM get it's ground from??

The 8910eis is only used when using with an MSD 6 Series Unit, the PN 5462 is just an inductive system that will interface to the coil negative. The proper way to connect the unit is as follows,
Red to coil positive which is switched 12 volts
Black to ground
The original wire is removed from coil negative and connected to the white wire of 5462, then the orange wire of 5462 is then connected to the coil negative, make sure that this is the only wire on the coil negative.
