First post so bare with me. I have a '66 mustang fastback and am having a stout 302 from a '72 ford built for it. I recently purchased a speed demon 650, edelbrock performer and a MSD digital 6. Since I am using a factory cam, I would like to order a distributor with a cast iron set up to match along with a coil. Which distributor would work the best and I need it to be short enough to allow a "cobra oval air filter" to be used. Can someone steer me into the right direction? :)

The MSD Pro-Billet Small Diameter Ford V8 Distributor, PN 8579, is the shortest distributor that we offer. From the base mounting flange to the top of the distributor cap towers it is 7 1/16" tall. The overall diameter is 4 3/4". The coil I would recommend is the MSD Blaster HVC Coil, PN 8252. This coil will excellent peak current, 300mA, that will work great on your stout 302.
