Default Setup For 7531 - Is There One?

Is there a default setup in the programme to get the engine started intially? ie: inital and total timing for a big block chev blah, blah, blah....

Or do we have to start at the beginning and muddle our way through....

Also, it appears we can't do a lot of the initial settings without plugging the computer into the 7531 box? As we haven't completed wiring the car I was hoping to have a fiddle with the software beforehand but it appears a number of the functions are not available without plugging it in....is this correct?

There are no retards or anything programmed into the unit that would not allow you to run the engine right away. You'll need to set your total timing on your distributor or crank trigger. After that, you should be able to start the engine. You can completely program the unit without having the PC plugged into the MSD. Once you've finished your prgramming, you can then "transfer" all the information into the Programmable 7.
