9 Pin Connection

We have bought the MC4 digital, witch has a 9 pin connection, for our Suzuki Funny Bike . We would like to connect the ignition to our laptop. On the laptop are just USB connections available. Can we connect the 9 pin cable on a USB converter (serial - usb cable)? Is the software then working because when we start the software these is only the COM3 available. Or does the software only work on a Com port?

Why do MSD use still use a 9 pin serial connection, because this kind of connection will not be used for a long time. It will be replaced by USB or firewire.

MSD Does not offer an adaptor for your application. However most computer/electronics stores carry such adaptors.

The ignition and software is working with an adapter. It's really great and fantastic equipment!
The problem witch we thouhgt we had has been solved!
We love this ignition and the possebility's. Really great!
