I have a pro billet 8361 distributor and wanted to change the vacuum advance to a crane adjustable advance but I discovered that it is nearly impossible to take the msd advance out, do you have any suggestions on how I could take the vacuum advance out? Also, my 6A ignition box is making a rythmic buzzing sound at all rpms, is this normal?
thanks for your help

The vacuum advance can be removed on the PN 8361 distributor by removing the retain screws and slightly rotating the vacumm advance plate in a counter clockwise rotation. Then rotate the vacuum advance housing while lightly pushing down on the vacuum advance rod. It is a little difficult, but with care can be removed. As for your MSD making a buzzing noise, the noise you are hearing is probally the laminations on the transformer that is inside the unit. It is not unusual for the unit to make this kind of noise. The noise can sometimes be eliminated by mounting the unit on a different material or with rubber shock mounts.
