How do you connect MSD 6A to distributer on 90 dodge 318? None of the installations in the instruction book apply to the hall effect pick-up. Do you use the single white wire or the purple and green wires, and where do you connect them.
What color wires does the dist have and how many? It should connect thru the magnetic pickup

It has 3 wires 1 black w/blue stripe, 1 red, and 1 white w/ black stripe. I looked in my repair manual at the engine wiring diagram, and it shows 1 8 volt input, 1 reference pick-up and 1 going to the throttle body sensors.

The red wire could possibly be orange, not really sure, because all the wires are slightly discolored, also, I can only see the colored wires on the opposite side of the plug from the distributor. The wires running directly from the distributer are all black and are fused together side by side.

You do not tie to the distributor at all. You will need to follow the hook up for late model Chrysler in the instructions. The hook up is done at the two wires that are on the coil.
