I have been looking at the new 7530 ignition controller and I just noticed the programmability fo the 6Al 6530- Has anyone out ther used the timing curve function to retard the timing off the line and tehn bring it all in to help reduce tire slippage off the line? From the documentation it looks like it will do this and the box is simpler to use than the new 75230.

What does anyone think about this. I am running a carbureted car so boost timing and retard don't interest me. Just the curve off the line.

the launch retard does not have "dots" to plot ..it only works off of a set time and ramp . unfortunately, there is no "cheap way' of having the same features as a 7531--8973--or the new powergrid.

Launch------------ The launch retard can be activated multiple ways
depending on the application. In order to
customize this feature to your application there
are 3 adjustments that need to be made.
Delay .00--------- This is a time delay that starts counting once 12V is
removed from the Launch Wire (Dk. Blue).
If this delay is set at 0 seconds, then the launch
retard will become active as soon as 12V is applied
to the launch wire. If you have anything other
than 0 seconds (example .10 or more), then the
launch retard will not become active until 12V is
removed from the Launch Wire and the Delay
time is achieved.
(Programmable from .00 - 1.00 seconds)
Deg .0------------- Timing retard added when the Launch wire is ON
User adjustable from 0 to 25.
(0.1 increments)
Ramp .50--------- Ramp down time for Launch Retard degrees when the
Launch wire is switched from ON to OFF.
Retard is slowly removed from the total timing retard
of the system at a programmable rate in seconds.
User adjustable from 0.00 to 2.50 sec.
(0.01 sec increments)

Hi,
I'm installing my 6530 now, and getting familiar with the Pro-Data software version 3.19.

I do not have a launch retard delay item in the data editor window. There are only two items for launch retard, deg & ramp.

How do you set the delay to the launch retard?

Thanks,
Tim
