Hi Could someone help me i have bought a PN42353(3 channel) Multi Channel Ignition, with following;

Yamaha 701 trigger pick-up plate
Yamaha701 total loss flywheel
one trigger pick-up
The question is will it work with a single trigger pick-up ? if yes does anyone have a wiring diagram as the one i have is for wiring up with three trigger pickups.

Thanks in Advance David

Hello,
Part number 42353 is a "multi" channel ignition, so depending on how many cylinders (in your case two) you would need two trigger pickups. You would also need two coils part number 42921. If you would like to give me a call I would be more than happy to send you out a set of instructions. You can reach me at 888-258-3835 Thanks, Bret-MSD Powersports

yes it will work on a 760 I have done it
Grind the small lump of the flywheel
So you only have the big two lumps left.
Now because the ignition is seeing two lumps per revolution it thinkns its doing twice the rpm
so an advance setting on 4000 is actually only 2000 on your engine.
Its also means that the advance is only half as well so 20 degrees is only 10 degees.
all good other than that but you have to understand that the max rev limit will be 8000 rpm now as its 16000 on the 4217

I have asked msd to make a software update for twin cylinder wasted spark engines but they do not wish to do this. its a shame as it would open up a new market for them

Sorry Dave for the late response. Part number 4316 is what you would need for the pickups. Thanks, Bret-MSD Powersports
