Using the 7531 as a training tool

I own a MSD 7531. I have herd all the statements about it not being leagal in IHRA and NHRA competion. The reason I bought it was to teach My Wife (the driver) to drive the car. The fastest car she has driven was a High 12 second Comaro. The Monza I am currently building should run mid 9s no sweat. Can I use the 7531 to slow down the car lowering the et as she learns to drive? As long as she is driving in the test and tune lane no one cares what box she is using?

Theres no reason why you couldn't use the 7531 to slow the car down. The only time anyone will care that your using that box is if you are trying to enter a sanctioned event. As for the best way to slow the car dowm; choose your poison. Like everything else in life there's a bunch of diffent ways to do so.
