Are MSD ignitions compatable with 3cyl engines too? If so, what would the recommended setup for a daily driver be?

Thanks!

The MSD ignitions are compatible to the 3 cylinder engines, as long as they have a single coil and distributor. The best one to use is the MSD 6A, PN 6200 as an ignition amplifier, if you decide to use one with a rev limiter the RPM limiting will be off.

How about a coil to go with it?

Is there ever any issue with using a stock cap and rotor with a more powerful ignition, like the digital series? I haven't been able to find anything but an oem cap and rotor so far...

The coil that you can use is a PN 8207 Blaster SS Coil, the only thing is that you may have to relocate the coil and possibly extend the coil wire. On the cap and rotor, as long as the cap and rotor are in good condition it should be fine, it will go through more of wear and tear, but just keep and eye on it. One last thing, let me know what type of application you want to install an MSD Unit, just to make sure everything will work OK.

Thanks.

These units will work fine for your Metro, but I would stick with the MSD 6A, any other unit with a rev limiter or timing retard will not be correct.
