Mother nature was putting the challenge to Drag Week participants as rain continued to fall over much of the Midwest. Specifically in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Heavy rain fall on Tuesday morning thwarted any chance of running at Indy and Columbus wasn’t looking too dry for Wednesday’s action. The HRM staff opted to travel back to Cordova for racing on Wednesday morning then will head to Martin, Michigan to run Thursday, and end again at Cordova (as planned) on Friday!
Day one of Hot Rod's Drag Week was unfortunately rained out. However, the group still had to traverse nearly 300 miles from Cordova to Indianapolis. From what we heard, there were several mechanical failures early in the day and several were still driving into town late, late in the night.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow! Check out hotrod.com for more updates.
Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week kicked off this week in Cordova, Illinois - with a blanket of gray skies and rain. Sunday was a test and tune day, as well as tech and registration. In the afternoon it cleared out enough for racers to get a few laps down the track, but the skies opened up in the evening so we'll have to see what happens on Monday.
