The Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributor is the perfect upgrade for outdated points distributors or bulky HEIs. Simply install the distributor in the engine, connect three wires, the coil and fire it up! A maintenance-free magnetic pick-up accurately triggers the module. The increased output of the amplifier easily outperforms stock ignitions and will smooth out the engine’s idle, improve starting and provide a much higher rpm range. The Ready-to-Run features MSD’s adjustable mechanical advance which allows you to custom tailor an ignition curve to match your engine’s needs. There is also a vacuum advance canister to help improve economy. For positive street performance, the Ready-to-Run is the best choice.

This is a super nice replacement Distributor without having to have the larger HEI and you do not need to purchase the Module Box, such as the 6A or bigger. This one deserves to be rated 6 stars. By Anonymous One of the best improvment I have made. I installed it on a 355 chevy with 9.5:1 comp, AL heads around 400 HP it replaced a rebuilt HEI what a differnce acurate timming makes. In the old HEI weights would stick at random and was low on energy even with 40,000 V coil, I replaced the crapy stamp weights with a better set with only mild improvment. I tried all the weight, spring & inital timeing combos. The MSD was a night & day differance, started better, idled better, way better throttle response. I have been running the MSD for a year now and am thinking of adding a the 6AL-2 mainly for the rev limiters for racing, if you plan the drag race alot or know you want a rev limter you maybe money ahead to get the not ready to run pro billet and your choice of igniion box right away, the street fighter looks to be a great pick for street cars. Mine has the green wire and tach works fine. |
