Adam is admittedly not a morning person. Also, thanks to Ipods, there
were
no arguments over music selection in the dually!

This sweet Ford was out early and on the road. Could be due to the
black paint and
wanting to get to Nashville before the nasty heat set
in.

Good looking Road Runner also had the same game plan.

Check out this groovy vinyl top! This was actually
an option available as the "Mod Top" from Dodge.
There
was a Duster running around with a faux snake skin one too.

Light weight, little roadster with thumping big block power! This
thing was long hauled by a father and son team from Wisconsin! Hats
off to them for making the topless run.

During the show, Hot Rod mega-photographer, Wes Allison,
tried putting
together a
few roof top pics for the pages.

This bright yellow Chevelle was detailed from the inside out with
a completely polished big block Ram Jet.

The booths may close up when the sun goes down, but the cruising keeps
going and going. Hanging out in the hotel parking lot is one of the
best parts of Power Tour! We made a quick lap then hoofed the 1/2
mile to the Grand Old Opry Hotel to crash out in the frigid AC.

In just a few hours, we were on the road again and heading toward Birmingham
Alabama.

Just a few miles into the rolling hills of 'bama, we passed the crew
from Painless Performance. The '34 panel truck has a 5.0L EFI engine
that is managed by their new Perfect ECU system.

Right behind is another Painless car. This '64 Custom is fit with
a Modular 4.6L Ford and is also run by their Perfect EFI system! In
fact, Painless had four cars with different engines all using their
same EFI controller.

Just ahead of the Painless boys we came across the Mothers latest
creation, this absolutely sano '67 El Camino. Gary and the crew out
did themselves with this one!

The Alabama stop treated us to great live music by Chad Thomas and
the Crazy Kings.
These guys were rockin' out the old tunes and had everyone stomping
their feet.

Unfortunately, we were also welcomed with a massive downpour.
Not
just a sprinkle but a stout, hard, cold rain. On the plus side, it
did cool it off!

We had just finished cleaning the dually and the '55 too.

You make friends really quick when you have an enclosed trailer and
tent set up during a rain.

It did clear up just long enough for everyone to pull in, take in
some more music and the night's festivities.

Five down - two to go!
