The NHRA wrapped up the regular points season this week at Brainerd and set the stage for The Countdown to begin.

Larry Dixon remained perfect in Top Fuel with a dramatic win over Cory McClenathan in one of the quickest side-by-side races in NHRA history. In Funny Car Bob Bode scored his first career win against a tire spinning Jack Beckman. In Pro Stock Jeg Coughlin Jr. won his 5th Brainerd wally over a red-lighting Shane Gray. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Andrew Hines took the win light against first-time finalist Jim Underdahl. Congratulations to all the winners and everyone that made it above the cut to compete in The Countdown!

The El Paso Times newspaper came by the MSD facilities on El Paso's eastside to learn a little more about how the community is tied to the racing and automotive aftermarket industries. While most everyone in those industries know what MSD Ignition is, many of the people in our community have had little chance to learn about all we do. The news paper took this opportunity to get a glimpse inside our offices and see how the work of their friends and neighbors can be seen on specialty cars around the world.

Doug Kalitta scored his first win of the year over Brandon Bernstein in the Top Fuel Final at Bandimere Speedway outside of Denver. In Funny Car, it was an all Force final with Robert Hight getting the best of his boss, John Force in the final. In Pro Stock Allen Johnson took the easy win over Jeg Coughlin Jr. who had to abort his final-round pass. Pro Stock Motorcycle had Andrew Hines edge out Karen Stoffer in the final. Congratulations to all the winners.
